    Default Dash lights stopped working

    Title says it all...

I have not gotten the time to digg too much but I will take advices and pointers

My dash lights stopped alltogether... gauges are working, headlights and everything are good, just the dash illumination is gone...

Is there a specific circuit ? I suspect some sort of short or something which really sucks lol..

You said the headlights work but do the the running lights work. When mine stopped working the running lights went out also (in the mountains during a snow storm) it blew the fuse under the dash.

yes everything is working as usual (that means as good as it can for a 22 yold XJ with all kind of already known electrical issues lol)
this is why I am wondering if the dash lights were sharing the same circuit as the gauges or something

Change the light switch, these symptoms usually happen when the dimmer spring breaks or falls off,.. had it happen once or twice,..
