Default Jeep XJ Door Sill Installation - Simple Stuff

This is easier than putting gas in your XJ!

I ordered these on 11-04 and they arrived USPS 11-08. I purchased them from Howler_GT on CherokeeTalk.com.

They were packed well. All the edges were smooth to the touch. No cut fingers!!! Always a plus. I was concerned that they were not going to fit well enough to get the screws in straight, but all fears went away as I screwed it down.

This is a simple and inexpensive upgrade to your XJ which I recommend!

Here is how it arrived (closed of course)

    Out of the package...

    Unwrapped

    Factory plastic sill

Removal of factory Phillips head screws...

Slide the plastic sill out of the way...

Slide the aluminum sill in place (the screws will pull it down flush)

Use the stainless screws supplied with new sills...

    Slightly different angle...

Factory rear door sill. 2 screw removal, slide out and slide in the new sill.

Driver's side complete. Again the stainless steel screws will pull down the sill

    Painted them black!

I used etching primer and then Plastikote bed liner.

I will have to see if Howler_GT still does these sills... I am not usually a huge fan of Diamond Plate stuff, but I hate the cheapness look of the stock sills.. and they do look really good with the bedliner on them... You didn't forget the ones under the back door... You wanted to save that for another day of working on the XJ!! LOL
