    Default gear ratio

    what gears would you recommend for my 2000 xj that does about 100 miles a day on road and about 40 miles of raod each weekend.(some towing required)

    That depends on tire size. how tall are those 235s?

    there just shy of 30 in tall

    3.73 would be a good ratio. But 4.10 is easier to get. That would give you plenty of power and with a 31 inch tire you would have a correct speedometer with a 35 tooth speedo gear.

    Some XJs came with 3.73:1 gears so you may be able to swap a set into your diffs.
