    A good question actually

    To check the pinion angle, remove the drive shaft from the pinion yoke. Then you need one of these:



    Then put one of the flat surfaces of the angle finder on the flat surfaces where the u joint straps bolt. Read the angle. Usually the reason you need this is to compare to your tcase angle. Take the reading the same way off the flat surface of the filler bolt or if you have the drive shaft removed the end of the tail shaft.
