    Default Project: "Rigor Mortis"

Pistons are at the border ready for pickup!

Can I just press the wrist pins out? Then press the new ones in? Or am I going to have to build an oven to heat them up to press them off/on?

Well I picked up all (well most) of my parts last night and got busy in the garage today. First thing I had to build a press to press the wrist pins out.

An old jack worked perfect, and was able to reassemble the jack after words!

    Then started grinding rings.

I might have to include this as a welding project on a podcast. You will get credit of course

Well ! Broke two rings installing the pistons because of my cheap ass ring compressor! Now I have to wait for summit to send new sets!

    Great build!
I was looking at your ring in cylinder shot and could not see any cross hatch...
If you are putting in new rings, it is always a good idea to use even a cheep bottle brush hone to throw some cross hatch into the surface. helps seat the rings quicker and greatly improve oil control. Mind you it just might be a bad angle on the bore so it does not show, I will revisit some of the past engine build picks. again, Great job! I want to find a nice rebuildable block and make a fresh motor for my jeep!
