    Default wiring grimlins

well it all started by installing a radio in the xj and finding that the constant power wire was dead and i cannt figure out why so i ran a new one leaving the rest of the wiring running through the harrness

then yesterday the radio had power and continued to play tracks from the ipod everything looked to be fine but i had no sound so i thought ok i lost a connection but in my down time at work today i checked everything out and all was fine still no sound

then when i got home tonight i opened the door and the door buzzer worked for the first time in a week and then the sound came back in the radio but as far as i know the radio isnt tied into the buzzer so why the sudden change?

fuses are good wires seem to be good all butt connections for the wiring seem good

anyone else had this problem or might know what would cause it?

Sounds like you are tied into the buzzer circuit. The buzzer oscillates the current slightly so it is affecting the current that goes to the radio. You will have to separate it.

all the wiring for the radio is using the factory wiring harrness for the radio with the exception of the constant power wire which is ran directly to the battery with a fused line. i dont see why the factory wiring for the radio would be tied to the door buzzer

Then pull your buzzer. You weren't using it anyway.
