It's my understanding, the 'swag' which connects the hook to the cable somehow caught the trailer, then pulled the trailer into the modified Backbone which was 'also' attached to the BackBone via added hitch mount and a 3" drop hitch was being used........

Thats about as clear as mud, help me out here Matt.

I'll tell you what, the 1st award you get is the HONESTY AWARD!

In the past, every once in a while........I'd get a call or an email concerning a possible part failure or something of that nature with someone exclaiming it broke or it failed........only to learn later, from the customer's buddy, spouse or even themselves post a picture or video of how the so-called failure actually happened.....IE: An individual in Mass. I knew, claimed his carrier only touched a tree one day while wheeling, broke it, broke the glass... 2 weeks later after I made things right for this individual.........a video surfaced of him backing into the very large tree at well over 5mph.....My fault??.....I sent him a bill.......Never heard from him again, never paid the bill......

It's a pleasure doing business with a Jeeper like Matt!

The rabbit was white and wore a vest and had this big watch in his hand and kept muttering "I'm late, I'm late I'm late for a very important date".

If I bend something as substantial as Detour's parts are, I'd just have to tell how the heck I did it and buy a new one. I'd consider that bragging rights. "You know that super beefy stuff I bought? I managed to mangle it !

That was Sean, (Badapple) my sometimes engineer I sometimes ask engineering questions to, guess I stated things pretty accurately, otherwise.......he would have re-engineered my comments......

At the time of the bend, based on a pull rate of 6,000lb on the cable, aprox. 3,500 'FOOT' pounds of torque was being applied to the BackBone mounting system......(He followed that with laughter and stated 'Thats ALOT'.....He also stated that the way Matt had configured the pull, zero force was transfered to the truck, thus no broken bolts or movement, the BackBone's mounting plate took all the force, he followed that with a "He's Lucky" comment........ All that said, as far as no welds breaking, his comment was "you did good!".......So, I'll be sticking with the brand of wire I've been using, thats for sure!
