    Default Snorkel Help

Hey yall. I did a homemade snorkel on my XJ and have a question for anyone with a store bought one. What is the type of filter system for water drainage comin from the top? I cant think of anything but maybe drillin a few holes in long tube comin down A-pillar for it. Any help would be great.

Ok I have a 90 degree 3 inch coupling under my cover so would it be best to drill 4 holes around it going up to be like that?

It doesn't seem to. Lots of guys do it. It is not a real problem unless you are in a heavy rain. What most of them do is have it so they can rotate it if needed. Also if in heavy mudding, like in Florida, they point them backwards to keep the mud out.

Yeah I would say point the inlet towards the rear.. You will still get plenty of air for the engine, and plenty of cooler air at that... You just won't have the air force fed into the inlet, but you will still get way more air in than what you would have gotten using the stock setup!!

I have an ARB snorkel, and they recommend turning the inlet around for heavy snow and mud.

You might consider attaching a small drain tube to the bottom of the airbox.
