today I went to get some work done on my winch line and I noticed a spool of 5/16 steel cable with vinyl around it... my wheels were turning so I asked the guy how much that was and he said .25 a foot.... thats CRAZY usually steel cable is about .65-.70 a foot so I asked why the low price and he said there is a small spot where a forklift hit the cable and caused MINOR and ONLY cosmetic damage basically it just cut the plastic a tad bit.
If I didnt already have the cable I would have bought the plastic shielded one...
Also right there for you they can swage it for you for fairly good price... I paid 25 for mine so for about 55 total you can get 100 foot cable and have it swagged and its weight tested at 9480 Lbs, sounds good enough for me!
