Recently I had a problem with a the upper cooling hose quick disconnect I thought I would share my fix.

The clip inside the quick disconnect is the part that fails over time due to dry rotting from the heat. So to fix this I removed the quick disconnect and installed a brake line fitting and a short piece of brake line. I was able to get some rubber transmission cooler line for the parts store.

This is the setup before cutting.

I cut the short brake line to about 4 inches then cut the metal cooler line coming from radiator so there were no bends in the rubber cooler line I bought from the parts store. and installed two screw type hose clamps to hold it in place.

The Part #'s I used were:

Adapter: 323081.1
Brake Line: PA-512

You may be able to find a shorter brake line that you do not have to cut, but I just grabbed the shortest one I saw and went with it. Those are Advance Auto Parts part numbers. I am sure they will cross to whoever you decide to use. Been on over a week and no leaks yet.

Will keep updated on any situations that arise.

Thanks for looking.
