1996 was the last year of the OBD computer. I wasn't sure when the OBD 2 Came into play.

Yep. As mandated by the government all cars and light trucks built and sold after Jan 1st 1996 had to have OBD2.

thats good i was thinking that my 96 was a obd not obd 2.
