XJ4IV has a write up on it somewhere here. But yes it will take some mods (Check out XJ Innovations )

I would like to make a comment about junkyard parts. Remember to think about picking up something off an XJ (if the price and opportunity exist),even if you do not need it right then. the next time you go back, it might not be there. Ithought about getting the power window motor out of the driver side of this particular XJ. I did not not do it. the next time I went back, the whole door was gone.

Howdy jeepers. Great list, I'll be printing it off to keep with me when I to local yard.

Being a newbie Jeep dude, i was wondering about bastard packs. How to build them specifically, what leafs to use, etc. Particularly, I'd like to stretch mine and since most use leafs up front, I decided it was time to learn about them.

    from another forum....
"Opened mine up for the size up from 3/8th (idr what it was) used a dremel and sandpaper tip and it went easy as ****. I also managed 4" of lift without a 90 degree shackle angle. My pack is built from a heavy 3/4 ton and nicer xj pack. Stock xj upper, xj 2nd, 3/4t 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. Rides smooth enough and flexes great. Better than most 4.5" packs I have seen."

Doing the F150/S10 springs? What are the draw backs besides rough ride? Has anyone done this and would you do it again?

I have done S10 springs. No real drawbacks there unless you put the whole spring in. The F150 though is far too harsh for the light XJ. You would be much better off with the ZJ V8 coils and some spacers.

I was browsing through the list again and looked at the "GM fullsize pickup shackles ('95-99) = 1.5" lift, better shackle angle".

My question is, I can buy shackles for, let's say a '98 chevy c10 for 25... what are the drawbacks if any? That seems a heckuva lot cheaper than buying lift shackles from any other sites. Here's the link to the ones I'm looking at http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...hTerm=shackles

How about the T-Bird coil springs? Would they be a better option to partner with the S10 bastard pack instead of the F150 springs?

The F150 springs will be a stiff ride as the T-Bird ones will be a much bouncier ride. I've had a few friends try them and that's what they said. They finally stuck with the F150 ones.

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and have some questions about the 70s bronco/f100/f150 coils. I have a couple 70s fords. Does anyone know if the coils off of a 78 f150 flare side would be a direct fit or would they need to be modified slightly?
    Thanks in advance
