Well I went over to my favorite mechanic today. I had him replace the NP242 front seal (the one for the front driveshaft) and the CPS.

I'll have to wait to see if my small leak has gone from the NP242, but I think that got it.

The more interesting of the two was the CPS.

My XJ wasn't starting right up any more. It would take 2 to 3 seconds of cranking, then start. Now it starts right away.

What is REALLY interesting is when I would try and talk on my HAM radio on certain bands it would cause the engine to miss, or die!!!

I'm still checking, but it seems that after changing the CPS this problem has gone!

My radio transmitts about 100 watts, so you probably wouldn't notice this issue with a CB (transmitting legal power).

I think my little miss has gone as well, not sure though.
