brake booster is in. need to bench bleed MC, reconnect lines then full bleed.

still tossing around the idea of bigger MC when I go to dual piston calipers on all 4 corners. but gonna use stock MC for now.

Denver, I am using the stock Grand Cherokee MC. Currently running dual piston calipers and single piston on rear from a WJ. The disc brake pistons require less fluid than drum brakes

oh!! someone with actual wisdom, I should've asked you first. got blisters on my fingers from googling on several forums.

so it sounds like I need to run single piston calipers in rear, 2nd time I'm hearing this. you don't think I could control it enough with a prop valve? I sorta assumed calipers were like dollars and sunsets.
    More is better.

You can run as many pistons as you want. But your brake system needs to be balanced to about 60 - 40 or 70 - 30. The brakes I am using are already balanced so I used those.

Hmm. I just can't wrap my head around brake systems. a 37 is almost 20% taller than a 31. way more rotating mass and rotational leverage working against the brakes (I don't feel like doing all the math) but I'm thinking it's would take almost twice as much braking pressure and volume to stop a rig on 37s.

I'm going from 2 calipers up front to 4. and likely a single caliper in back. just seems like more pressure would need to be applied (and more volume) but the stock system is ok for it.

I take your word for it, just doesn't make sense to me... I've read a few in depth articles. but at this point just trying to get it back together. Thx buddy.

The WJ brakes are about 50% more stopping power than the XJ brakes. Larger rotors and brake pads

Interesting. I just ASSumed they were about on par with XJ junk. I've got chevy dual piston calipers that came with the 44s. Can I compare volume of the pistons or something?

I was going off diameter of the rotors, 13" vs 11" fronts and size of pads and assuming same master cylinder pressure, however I am running a ZJ dual diaphram booster

I think if I keep running the XJ, I'll be looking into a similar setup to what you have on yours.. Won't be going any bigger than 35's, but figure it'd be a far better setup than the stock setup...especially getting rid of the drums.

I am really pleased with the brakes. They have changed the design on the modern ones, and they work much better even if they were the same size as now.
