Been to Hidden Falls many times enjoyed every time even when I put the TJ on its side. Loose rock trail is a lot of fun. North pole trail is my favorite. Long, challenging and get a good view of the park.Click image for larger version.

North Pole is LOONG. North Peak (3) is another good one, gave the ole suspension a good workout and nice and long, dumps you out pretty close to where the ^^ pic was taken, maybe to the west just a tad. Pretty hard to beat that view.

Gonna have to go back for redemption, didn't spend a lot time on the trails, but really enjoyed the few I hit.

depending on which peak this was shot from, what you can see in the picture is about 20% of the north pole trail. didn't have my GPS app on at the time, but its easily 5 miles long.

This is looking from the north looking south ( I think ) about 3/4 to a mile into it. Took us 4-5 hours to go from one end to the other.

And if you have a spare 31m laying around or hit the lotto the 5000ac ranch on the other side of the fence is for sale. (2000ac larger than Hidden Falls )

That's awesome... There are quite a few trails and such throughout the different forests and logging roads throughout the mountains around me, all of which or at least many of which I hope to be able to start exploring soon... None with quite that view though..

Saw quite a few properties for sale around there. Hard to believe land in that area is 6000 an acre. I would expect about half that. nothing but rock and mesquite trees are far as you can see. quite a few were high fenced like the pic above. Saw game on a few of them, the rest looked empty. although with 5000 ac, we couldn't see enough of it to tell.

The hill country is very popular place to retire. The closer to Austin the more expensive the land is. That 5000ac ranch has a 28ac stocked lake, 2 houses one 4500sq ft 5 bed room with a pool one 2500sq ft 4 bed room a 5000sq ft shop and stocked with all kinds of exotic game. The wife and I are going to retire in 3 yrs and that's the area we are looking at. Low taxes, medical care and shopping are close by but sill get the " country living feeling "
