Finished it already. Used hole saw and grinder with a cut off wheel. I installed poison spider hood vent. Fairly easy install about 3 and a half hours start to finish

Fixed my winch. Got half the cable unspooled and it wouldn't work. Took the rest of the cable off and took the shrouds off and couldn't find anything wrong there or in the hand switch.

Ended up being a bad connection at the plug. Fixed it by carefully putting in some stuff called OxGuard. Has little metal filings and a grease the conducts electricity. Problem solved

Replaced my head gasket in tripple digit heat. On the bright side i found a flex socket that had been on a exhaust bolt for over a year.

Yep. It was yours. That socket has literally gone from coast to coast and been bounced around i don't know how many forest service road's. Plus at least 50 trip's out if state commuting my daughter to her mom's house for weekend visits without falling off. I SUPPOSE you can have it back. That was my intention, but after reading thus thread............

Well... it's been a while... done a few more things, so I guess I'll pic dump

Got a pair of XJWonders nut strips (meanlemons.com) and a proper XJ hitch to replace the ZJ one I've been running. I finally found an XJ hitch at a decent price.... now I don't have to worry about the shackles rubbing anymore... PLUS I have 8 bolts holding the hitch up now instead of just 4

Then my hub bearing decided to start squeaking again, then came loose and started throwing belts. Turns out, if you don't press the fan hub flange onto the hub bearing just right, it wallers out the hole and well... eventually sends the fan INTO the radiator. Thankfully, my radiator didn't sustain any significant damage, but it tore yet ANOTHER fan shroud to shreds (that makes 3). So I scavanged another AC mounting bracket/fan hub assy. and painted it up

Unfortunately I discovered after I already had everything mounted back up, that there was no spot in the 96+ brackets for the idler pulley. I ended up having to go to the AutoZone and jerry rig a custom-length belt to snake through the system SANS idler pulley. Basically ended up having to use the 96+ belt routing, but WITHOUT the idler pulley for either routing style... been holding like that for a few months.

Replaced the front pads n rotors, went to the junk yard for a new power steering pump bracket and belt tensioner, ended up finding a ZJ prop valve and XJ aux trans cooler as well.... still waiting on the time to install those upgrades. With the heat being what it's been around here though, it's hard to get outside to do anything.

Got tired of the exhaust blowing up through the holes in the cargo area so I cut another piece of carpet to go back there... I'll be sure to keep the gear oil off of it this time...

I also made a homebrew light bar with some LED cubes and an OEM crossbar:

It's the perfect amount of light for trails. I found the humongous 50+" light bars were just BLINDING to people in front of you on the trails. There's a total of 24 LED lights with a flood pattern on this one. Good part about them being mounted to a cross rail is, I can slide the whole bar back and the rood ends up acting as a deflector on the bottom which blocks the lights from glaring down on the hood (not pictured, sorry). SO all the light ends up being useable instead of shining back in your face... especially off the white hood.

I got tired of having to fumble around with things in my cargo area with my big hi-lift jack laying across everything... so I utilized the overkill light tabs on the front bumper and fashioned a homebrew jack mount:

Haven't made much other progress on it in a while though.

Got a new CB too... Cobra 29 LTD Classic. Man this thing sounds good. Gets out good too.

Last but not least, I replaced the axleshaft ujoints....

I've got quite a few things planned still.... gonna be a while though. Gotta get tires ASAP.

Put 5 new spicer 5153x ujoints in the driveshaft. Pretty excited to see how they feel. Gotta get the new used transmission in first. Goal is to have that in by august 11.
