Interesting. That little square rubber isolator next to the trans mount also gets soft like a marshmallow or just wallowed out over the years and causes the exhaust to touch the cross member too. There's not a lot of room there to start with![]()
For sometime now I've had a problem with the down pipe bouncing, rattling, on the cross member.
I tried bending the hanger by jacking up the down pipe and it would stop for a while then come back.
I've replaced the down pipe twice since I've owned the Jeep and this last time I saw where one of my exhaust leaks were. The metal tore where the hanger was welded to the down pipe, probably from me jacking it up.
When I had the cross member out for Atlas install I remove a little bit of the cross member to make a bit of a gap, but it's still touching.
I decided to try something new.
Amazon didn't have a single hanger to do what I wanted so I purchased two.

Ha! I never thought about trying to replace it. I think this will last longer anyway. May still replace it.
