To be honest, I broke my refractometer about 10 years ago and never bothered to replace it. So I don't really know my abv anymore. I generally add a couple extra pounds of 2 row (barley) and 1/2 oz of hops and higher gravity yeast to my recipes. Boost the kick.

Tonight's beer on tap, quadruple Carmel Belgium, brewed using a traditional old world decoction technique. One glass you feel great. 2 glasses and it's bed time. 3 glasses and your in trouble for falling asleep on the couch.

That sounds delish. So your using 4:1 dry ingredients to water? Yea no telling what your ABV is but it sounds really good.

A couple years ago our fridge went out. It was a cheap, old freezer top unit. Not really much home"made" but we just wheeled it our back, painted it black, and used it for a tool cabinet for our cheaper tools. Plenty of space, lots of shelving, handles loads of weight, relatively weather proof, and slapped a padlock on it after making a couple brackets to lock both top and bottom together. Come to think of it, I NEED to clean it out and organize it. Tool cabinets cost too much when you have a free fridge setting around.

That's an awesome looking table... I need to learn how to source and work with wood, and welding to be able to build stuff like that... That's the kind of thing I'd love to learn how to do... I got a wood cabinet, that has been through quite a bit over the years, prior to me getting it... I've been thinking once I get a place with room to do it, that I might tear it down a bit, sand it down and refinish it... Not sure what kind of wood, it's actually made out of though... so not sure what finish it'll have...

Mom saw my coffee table while over for Christmas. Said she had a line on a slab of cedar and asked if I could help her build a dining room table. She got the wood the other day, Sunday I went over with saw, cut a few feet off of it and threw in the truck. I'll start sanding on it soon.

Order a pair of 4x4" steel legs in an X pattern already welded up and ready to go. I could've done that part, but she didn't mind paying and I'm definitely happy to have that part of the project done. (jeep needs work more)

Plan is to rip the slab, router a 3/8 to 1/2" inch deep slot 3" wide on each edge of the ripped slab. separate the wood about 20" or so (final width of 42") and put piece of glass down the middle. I'll post pics later if I get to it today.

also, those pics ^^ aren't the finished product of coffee table. I'll snap a few of those as well.
