That alternator is the first thing I would check. Pull it and have a parts store test it. Most will do it free
The '95 ZJ my son drives has been nothing but trouble. It died again tonight. It has a new battery, fairly new ignition switch, coil, wires, plugs, cap, and rotor.
Sputtered, voltage gauge very low, flashing radio display, dimming lights, all the warning lights come on, and then it dies.
All of the trouble we've had is probably related to it having sat a long time before it was given to us. I suspect the alternator is no longer charging, and it finally killed the battery while it was being driven.
Thoughts from anyone?

Absolutely test the alternator. It sounds like a classic alternator symptom.

If the alternator checks okay and no problem with grounds, remember the regulator is built into the PCM. Before buying a PCM check this out: https://alternatorparts.com/external...nator-kit.html
