Check out Farmer Johnsons Offroad.. There is another one too, but can't find it right now, will keep looking though...
Before I can try this WJ out further, even exploring some forest roads, it needs recovery points.
Managed to get a OEM receiver hitch from the pull-a-part, but the OEM front tow hooks are hard to find, and from the little I have read, not that stout.
Anybody got some decent ideas, DIY or aftermarket? A bumper may or may not be in my future, but everything needs recovery points.

FORMER GREEN XJ CLUB MEMBERIF YOU DON'T STAND BEHIND OUR TROOPS, FEEL FREE TO STAND IN FRONT OF THEM!!
DOING SOMETHING JUST BECAUSE YOUR BUDDY DOES IT THAT WAY MAKES AS MUCH SENSE AS SHARING TOOTHBRUSHES
That looks like a solid solution.
I managed to snag a good header panel from the pull-a-part also, so when I go to install that, I 'll check out the unibody "frame" tubes against how those appear to mount.
Today, I found this offering http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep-wj-...late-1064.html from Rough Country that seems intriguing, but I would be happier if Mark at Detours offered something.

Not too sure about this one, I think that metal plate might need to be longer with more attachments in the back.
Still looking for a recovery point solution for the front...
This guy has a couple of clean solutions....

The hidden winch bumper looks real clean, but the other one that allows a little access to the line is the one I would want. Get a line pinched and you need access to it or you won't be able to spool it out

You are right, but as I found when I was hammering out the front end sheet metal, the bumper cover is really just that....a cover.
Some have cut it carefully to allow more access to the hidden winch. It's just hard to swing1200 for a bumper in order to have a self-recovery solution, that's over half the
I paid to drive the WJ home. But if I win the lottery, I'll get the full bumper, Dynatrac axles, ARB lockers, a Premier Power Welder, a full Viair system, a 4BT conversion and spare JKU to use if something on the WJ breaks...
I love the Detours Backbone on the XJ, but Mark does not offer similar for the WJ, and everything else makes the front over-hang worse. Maybe I am asking too much.
