That is true. Once you modify any rig, you cannot get even as much as a stock rig most of the time. Car lots won't touch them. Besides, if I got rid of it I would just have to start over. I could never be happy with a stock rig anyway

It's not even that, the steering is ****ed, the doors don't lock, the door doesn't close, real main seal needs to be replaced, leaking coolant from somewhere, ticking sound from the cluster when I go over 25mph, and probably more that I can't think of.

Doors don't close? Door sagging by any chance?

Doesn't seal is a better wsy to put it. The drivers side door fell off years ago and the hinges weren't welded back on correctly leaving s 1/4" gap in the corner by the windshield. Over time that gap has gotten bigger.

Oh, I don't have any suggestions then. Rather than a cluster, I would look at the CV joint on the front shaft and rear if you have one. A cluster should make noise in any gear. But if you really think it is a cluster, put some PowerPunch gear additive in it. It will probably quiet down

Using very sophisticated imaging software I can see that my drag link and track bar aren't parallel. I'm thinking a drop pitman arm could have been a cure to my steering problem that i've been battling for well over a year now. I'm picking up a durango box from someone today and figure I might as well put a new pitman arm on there and spacer.

Yup, that might be the ticket. What steering problem have you been having?

Real bad wandering and bumpsteer. New drag link, tie rod with ends, trackbar, caster is about 7 degrees, ball joint and wheel bearings don't have any play in them.

And then there is that steering wheel position. Is your drag link adjust all the way in or out?

I am thinking you can shorten that up quite a bit and straiten the steering wheel out. Steering box tight? I know you are replacing it, but if it is loose it can make a rig wander

Yes they are really. I don't think this is causing bump steer. I think you have something else going on there

Everything is either new or still tight. I'm changing the box and spacer next week.

I think even with my "new" steering setup I have some bump steer.. but not nearly as much as the original setup had...
