    Default AC Compressor Swap Question

If you swap a compressor and then just drive it do you have to put PAG oil in the compressor when you not using the AC?

I am swapping out a bad compressor and i am taking my jeep to the shop later this week. I am not using ac until after they evac, oil and add refrigerent. Will this hurt compressor if its not turned on?

No, it will not. All the oil is in the system anyway. They may want to swap out the accumulator, which will have most of the system oil in it. You might be ahead to swap that out and all O rings on the lines before hand. Save yourself some bucks. Then they will add oil
