The general rule for prerunning is soft springs and really great shocks. And how much shock you get depends on how much speed you are after
    230 hp 4.3L Chevy
    Built 4L60E with manual lockout
    Atlas 4 speed
    Griffin radiator
    On board air
    Warn 9.5ti on custom bumper
7.5" RE front and bastard pack rear on custom long arms
    30 gal gas tank
    lockers
And a bunch of other stuff

And if you're getting into some more serious stuff likes jumps you're gonna want to brace and support a few things. Frame stiffeners will help your unibody straight, axle truss's and gussetts to keep your axles from twisting. Roll cage is not a bad idea either since you're usually going high speeds and its your kid. And of course light weight is great.
