Gas tank makes a gurgling noise?????
I have 97 Cherokee 4.0 auto trans about 110,000 miles on it. When I shut it off I can hear a gurgling noise from the gas tank. The stock heat shield is in place and I have a new gas cap on it. I have never heard a car make a noise like this before. Anybody know what it is that's making it do this???????????

The only thing that comes to mind is that the line from the tank to the carbon canister may be getting clogged. If you take the cap off, is there pressure in the tank?

No pressure in tank and what I found out is it needs a spring in the tank. It only does it if over 3/4 full and then it quits. Dealer says no big deal with you can live with the noise. It just a Jeep thing (lol). Thanks everybody for the help.
