Default JKU Rock Rails on XJ

I'm getting ready to start a new project and I am wondering if any of you have done this before. I acquired two Rubicon rock rails for cheap from a family member. It's going to require quite a bit of fabrication, but I think these will work out nicely for me.

Can't say I have done that, nor do I know anyone who has. Looks like it will take some work

It will, but if I pull it off I will have a new method of building solid rock rails for cheap. I'm going to have to chop about 6 inches off each side and extend the mounting brackets so they can be bolted to the frame channels underneath. I also plan to plate the frame a bit to give it some added strength.

The pinch seam mount on this will work almost as is. They'll need some slight mods. I figured that the metal is good, thick and already shaped like I want them. It's easier to start with these than to start from scratch. We will see where it goes.
