    The nice long stretch of belt, is likely the length running between the alternator and the a/c, this is where you would want to push on it to gauge if it moves more than a half inch. On my XJ its tought to get an arm in there to push on the belt due to the battery location.

    I got it güdentight. 1/4" of movement. No slip, and no squawk. Best of all, no more rattle from the pump.

    I put a couple hundred miles on it in the last couple days. Belt needs to be tightened again. It's not bad, just squawks when the a/c first kicks on. After that, it seems fine.

    Serpentine belts do stretch right after you put them on. They say they are not supposed to, but they do a little
    230 hp 4.3L Chevy
    Built 4L60E with manual lockout
    Atlas 4 speed
    Griffin radiator
    On board air
    Warn 9.5ti on custom bumper
    7.5" RE front and bastard pack rear on custom long arms
    30 gal gas tank
    lockers
    And a bunch of other stuff

    Any new belt will stretch. This belt isn't new, but not old either. You can still clearly read the lettering on it.
