Default A/C Compressor - normal cycling?

    Hello All.

What is the normal rate of an XJ compressor cycling on and off when the A/C is engaged?

I bought this Jeep in the winter, and while the dealer replaced the pressure line assembly, and supposedly charged the system, this thing does not blow cold, and the compressor cycles on and off rapidly i.e. every 5 seconds. It does NOT cycle if the supplemental cooling fan engages.

I'm trying to figure out if it just needs a change, now that it's over 80 degrees here, or if I have some other system problem to deal with.

    Ideas?

I'm not sure I believe what the fellow said when it was charged over the winter, but I'll give it another go and see what happens. Thanks.
