Default Power steering pressure hose busted

OK one of the typical Grand issues caught up to me, actually several at once. Lol my power steering pressure hose is leaking from down by the gear box. Should I just replace the hose or go ahead and replace it all? I know an upgrade is the Durango gear box. Same year model 4wd Durango gear box if I remember right. My question however is do they use the same power pressure hose or different ones? Also when looking the part up it showed a proportional steering one and a regular one. The part number is wore off the hose how can I tell the difference on which one the Grand has?

Will, you have to replace the whole hose. You can use the same hose, so just get the OEM replacement. Be sure to get new O rings for it too. The Durango box from the V8 will be noticeably bigger on the far end.

OK sounds good so just making sure same year model Durango 4wd gear box. From 5.2 or 5.9 or don't matter? The hose alone is 47 for non proportional or 68 for proportional steering. How much is the gear box?

You can buy a new box from people like AGR and it ain't cheap. Get a good one from a wrecking yard or better yet from a pick and pull for an even better price. You will probably have to adjust the play in it, even with a new one so you will need to be prepared for that
