    Default Question about disconnects

I have a 97 4.0 4x4 Cherokee and I will be putting new JKS disconnects on the stock frontend. I was wondering if I have to install longer brake lines on it and if I do how much longer do they have to be. Thanks everybody. Dan

As far as putting disconnects on you don't have have to install longer brake lines.. I'm assuming you are asking if you need to install longer brake lines for when you disconnect them and flex out.. in which case you might need longer lines, or you can install relocation brackets to extend the mounting point for the front lines down a bit and that usually gives you the distance you need for flexing in any case.. If nothing else, once you install the disconnects, disconnect them and find something like a loading dock to flex out on and have someone to watch the lines and see how close they come to pulling.. I'd think @ stock height you should be fine, but never hurts to take a look to be sure, I'd rather be safe then sorry, especially when it comes to having brakes or not having brakes... they are usually kind of important to have..

On a stock suspension you should be fine to leave the brake hoses alone. Once you lift a little and swap lower control arms is when you will need to lengthen them.

yup. stock height will be fine. In fact, I'm at 4" and have simply loosened the brackets that hold the hard lines. no issues at full flex

The best thing to do in your case (to play it safe)
Would be to just relocate the mounting point...
Unscrew the little bracket..... drill a new hole, and re-screw it in taking EXTRA CAUTION when bending the hard line downwards for the relocation.
