    Default Hatch hinge lube?

My hatch makes a creeking noise like a screen door on a (insert your favorite southern state here) trailer. I used good ol WD-40 but that only lasted a week. Today I took the struts off and slathered wheel bearing grease on everything that moves. Was that a good idea or did I just make a mess?

I sprayed all the hinges for all the doors, hood and hatch on my 98, as well as the struts on the hatch, the little parts that I guess stop the doors from opening too far as well as every window track, door hinge & garage door track @ the house, and the locks and latches for the truck box in the back of my Ram with Garage door lube that I picked up by all the garage door parts @ Lowes and it worked like a champ on all of them.. I bought one can of this stuff and have managed to use it on all of that and then some, and it has worked like a champ.. Worked on my XJ for over 5 years, and was still working quite well when I traded the XJ in.. Once you spray this stuff, so long as you don't hit the stuff it won't come off or drip or anything.. It amazingly stays right where you spray it..

I've used motorcycle chain lube. Sprays out thin so it runs inside the home pin holes and then after a minute or so it gets really tacky so it stays put. Works great.

    UPDATE:
My strange noise is not coming from the hinge but from the passenger side lift strut. Now it's kinda stuck open. I really have to push down on it hard to close.
So I have 2 questions now.
    1) upgrade options?
    2) if it stays up for more then 4 hours do I need to consult a doctor?

By this time, a visit to the ER is mandatory. Then hot foot it down to the patent attorney and get it patented. Then you can go on line and become rich, whether it works or not

Probably going to have to replace that though

Consult the nearest consenting woman, or women, whichever works best. Don't be picky, you've got all night.
