    Default Rear bumper mount cracks

Keep an eye on your rear bumper mounts if you have an aftermarket rear bumper, nut strips or not. I have a c4x4 rear bumper with tire carrier, and it was just too much stress for the unibody with the weight of the tire, and taking hard hits.

I welded up the cracks, ground the welds down then welded some 3/16" plate to the unibody, and made some 3/16" plate spacers for where the nut strips attach to the bumper.

    Plate welded in.

The easy way to remove/install a bumper!

It's now as stout as it's ever been, doesn't flop around when going over bumps anymore.
