Golfing on Sunday
A preacher woke up one Sunday and had a terrible temptation to ditch church and go golfing. He kept looking at the beautiful sky and wonderful weather and decided to take the day off. He called his Asst. Preacher and told him that he was not feeling well and the Asst. would have to take care of the sermon. After assuring him everything would be fine the Preacher grabbed his clubs and headed to the course. On the first hole he hit the drive perfect and watched it bounce on the green, rolling straight into the hole. His excitement grew as the same thing happened on the next hole. This continued through the rest of his game.
Meanwhile in heaven St. Peter was watching all this standing beside God. He turned to God and asked, "Lord, I don't understand. He blew off his responsibilities and duty to his parishioners. He lied to get out of his sermon. Why are you giving him such a great game?"
God smiled at St. Peter and said. "Who's he going to tell?"
