bumped my hood. temp when driving was alittle under 210, we will see where it goes now.

then i removed the 2 front doors. cut the holding pin and restraint pin.

then i made some pins from 12mm bolts(perfect fit, tad loose though)

now i just have to find QD plugs for the door wiring

my solution for the door wiring. not sure about the back yet but the front passenger door has 19 wires. driver door has 20 wires. 92-95 honda civic shock tower plugs are almost that size. could do 2 plugs if need be.
hopefully i can just depin them and repin in new plugs.(prolly not)
the 12mm bolts i used being a tad loose. iv tighten the hinge bolts as high as i can but they still bump when trying to shut,
they shut but its kinda annoying. the loose pin bolts give slack. but easier to pull out if i have to. theres a cheap hardware store here that sells the zinc plated pins with locking things on them. il buy some today after work and see if thats better

Cog Re: Rabies build \ from office to the woods

    ok here goes.
    got 2 front doors off a 4dr 93

    for reference

not sure what to do about this? cut and reweld or cut the bottom half off and leave it.

ripped apart one of my old army duffle bags. destiched it. laid it out and cut it.

il have the edges hemmed and krommets put in it then il screw it down.
i have enough material to put together to do the other side but no handle and pocket to match.

i went off of(not sure whos door) this door for reference.

i ran out of argon mix so they wont be finished for awhile. when i get more gas il pick up tubing also to make a rack
i also need to get the pins drilled out of the old hinges? seized in, i tried heat. punch and sledge. drilling etc. need machine shop

Half doors looking good... Somehow started looking at pics from the bottom of the thread up... and the first one from the outside that showed the fabric on the top edge, I was thinking that it looked like the material from a duffel... Looks like an awesome build, and will look even better once you get the seems sealed up and the material hemmed and grommeted.. Maybe one day I'll get to trying this on mine..

lol it is a duffle bag.
it is pretty ugly. but its nice out i couldnt wait to get the door on lol.
its so much work. and thats only 1 door so far.
today il get the hindges drlled out so i dont have to keep taking them off.
mother inlaw will be hemming door material.
got more argon today. small 25cf tank 29(refill)
i need to get a 3.5" hole saw also to make cup holders.
the striker, il drillnew holes into the door jam
so when i swap back to the orginal doors il just bolt the striker back 1.5" lower to original place
