Default Upper Control Arm mount reinforcement

So, I've had this problem twice and finally decided to correct it. Maybe someone else can benefit from it...the folded sheet metal bracket on the passenger side of the D30 is prone to damage, especially after lifting the XJ and using it out in the rocks in Southern AZ. I've bent one before and, being a cheap bastard, decided to fix it without buying a truss kit.

Nice! I've thought about doing the same. What thickness did you go with?

I used .125 sheet metal from ACE...cost 5.79 for a square foot. It was so close to the same thickness I couldn't tell the difference if there was one. Was right at the edge of what my little Lincoln would do tho. I really need (want!) a bigger welder. Oh Santa!!!! Are you listening? LOL
