    Default Drive shaft questions.

    OK I I have looked and got ten different answers. I need a straight answer.

    With my 6 inch lift will a front Ds work.

    That would be a straight yes
    230 hp 4.3L Chevy
    Built 4L60E with manual lockout
    Atlas 4 speed
    Griffin radiator
    On board air
    Warn 9.5ti on custom bumper
    7.5" RE front and bastard pack rear on custom long arms
    30 gal gas tank
    lockers
    And a bunch of other stuff

    It will work IF you do not plan on cycling the suspension through its range of motion. At droop the drive-shaft will be fully extended and pulling apart the slip-shaft. The amount of useable slip-shaft for torque transfer is also greatly reduced.
    Lifting 5" usually requires the front axle to be moved forward to center the wheels. Loosing more effective length of the drive-shaft.
    Grab a ZJ shaft and have no more worries. They are almost 33". Compared to 31" for the XJ.
    Or, just wheel it until something gives...
