    Default Hand brake Question..

My handbrake of course is not working. But.....
I can put it in neutral and pull up on the handle and it works fine. It holds and the cable function.
The handle itself seems screwy. The push button release is "IN" all the time. It won't pop out? Which would actually lock it in place if it worked.

The solution is to pull the console, remove the handle, and check the ratcheting mechanism. There is a spring in the handle that pushes the button out, it may have broken or moved out of position, both problems are fairly common. Replacement handles are available from the dealer (~60) but parts are not available. Best bet is the junk yard for a cheap replacement.

Thanks. I will try and find all the screws this weekend to pulling it. When pulling up, it does work fine, and holds on a hill.
Just the button won't pop back out.
I guess that means that little arm inside is not grabbing the teeth.
If I am picturing what it should look like. I don't know if that made sense.
