Default Clutch master cylinder pee'd on fuse panel!

Between the damage caused by DOT3 cooking in electrical heat & the ghetto sterio wiring of previous owners...
I've got almost nothing functional. I'm going to hit the local pick'n pull this weekend and look for an automatic xj to scavenge.
    A) what years match my 1989?
    B) later years have a plug style fuse box (from what I gather). Would it be worth while to raid a later model jeep for a newer style panel?

& is there a good trick to pull the panel out?
I unscrewed it, but it still didn't have a lot of room to work with

    OK ~ I found a couple doner xj's at the pick'n pull.
I undid the 2 screws and cut away the harness and realized I prob need the other 1/2 too.

So has anyone pulled a fuse panel?
Do I need the 1/2 attached to the firewall?
Does that just unscrew and slip out the inner firewall side?
And does it make a difference if I use a '94 vs. '89?
