Nope. One of the parts is the roll bar mounts for top hard ware, so I can finish mounting the soft top.

The other stuff is a surprise.

Nope I uncrated and moved it all by my lonesome gimpy one armed self. My arm is healing up pretty good. Doc says should be 100 percent by end of June and that I need to exercise More. So I am. Doing more at work as well.

Well I finally got a day off work so it was time to work on the tj. We found 2 wasp nests in the cab and one under the hood. I promptly served an eviction notice. Then we installed the roll bar mounts and finished installing the soft top.

Next the electrical gremlins. We found a blown fuse, so we went to town and got a pack of fuses. Changed a fuse. Turned the key and fried the new fuse. Next we got a wiring diagram. The fuse powered a relay under the hood. So we ran some temperary wires to the relay to bypass a short in the wiring. It worked, fuse is fine. Still no start and no gauges. We were trying to figure out if we were getting power to the e.c.m. when I had to leave. We are trying to figure out if the electrical short fried the e.c.m. or there is something else shorting out still.

The cheap jeep is going to make me work for it. But it will run again.

    Update,
Last Saturday I picked up a sway bar and sway disconnects for 50. On Craigslist. After work today I drove down to the valley and picked up a 4 inch lift 200 on Craigslist. Included the following parts. 4 short arms, adjustable front and rear track bars, track bar mounting bracket, 6 shocks, 2 front springs and 4 rear springs. I guess need to start looking for tires.....when the right deal comes along you can bet I will get them.

I spend about 10 to 15 minutes a day checking most of the northern ca and eastern Nevada Craigslist postings. If its a good deal it won't last long and you have to call right away. I have called to late to many times for to much stuff. What I have collected so far has taken a couple of months of diligent searching. There are only a couple of items left to get until my Craigslist journey ends and the fab work begins.

    It's Alive

After lots of head scratching and studying wiring diagrams and searching for collective wisdom, we got it figured out. Dead ECM was due to a short in the circuit that powers several relays on start up. Somebody, we won't mention names, but he owns the TJ, Drives a dark blue YJ and has a green Mighty Mite in his avatar, pinched a wire under the tranny filter when he changed it.

A heat shrink wrap and a bar-b-que lighter and all is good. More tranny oil to thin out the old stuff too and vroom. However we developed a small problem.

The plastic tank is taking a pee, but it moves on its own power now which is a major improvement. Should get it smogged next week.

The boy scored on Craigs List again. 200 for a complete Rancho 4" lift and another 50 for sway bar disconnects. A few extra pieces here, so we will sort it out when installing

Many thanks go to Payless 4X4 for use of their FSM wiring diagrams and collective wisdom from their mechanics

Today was a good day. We passed smog with a 357K. So do these things last forever or what?

We had this small leak from a crack in the radiator.

It wouldn't pass smog that way with an antifreeze leak, and we didn't want to buy a new radiator, so we put a band aid on it and called it good

We whacked a piece of tin with a ball peen hammer and glued it on with The Right Stuff. No leaks after 60 miles

But here is the best part. Plates and tags
