Default jubilee lake run april 2008

yah these are pics of last years run but its done every year.

    some info

Jubilee Lake is a beautiful 90 acre reservoir surrounded by timber on the Walla Walla Ranger District at 4800 feet in elevation. 12 miles northeast of Tollgate on Forest Road 64, from State Highway 204. 47 tent/trailer sites, 4 tent sites, 37 picnic sites, 4 group picnic areas. Fees: 14 single, 21 double, 3 day-use. Drinking water is available, as well as garbage pickup. Flush and vault toilets.

Of course those camping spots are for summer time lol

the plan was to see how far we could make it up to jubilee lake. so we took off and headed up to tollgate, oregon to park the trailer and air down. we stopped off in weston to talk to a couple friends and see how things were because they went up the night before. found out that nobody had even made it passed the first turn, they told us about some other roads we can run up there though.

so we got the tollgate store, unloaded the jeep and packed the gear from the truck to the jeep, headed up to a snow park to air down. thats where we ran into the police who just wanted to make sure we new the rules.

we headed up to summit road and found a couple sammies waiting at the bottom for another friend so we headed up in front of them. played leap frog with them for a while.

we just got the new tires on the jeep, and put new lockers in and new gears in the jeep. he was kinda babying it so we lost our momentum a couple times and got stuck.

    got stuck again lol

we made it upto the top of summit road and ran into a group of guys from milton freewater who had some nice yotas. there were a couple people from tri cities and even one from nevada who came just for this run. but the most suprising one was the lady taking pictures who was in her 60's

then we got word that a fullsize bronco on 44's down the hill side trail was on its top so everyone heaeded down to make sure they were ok and to get him flipped back over. when we got there he wasnt totally on his top but only cause the tree stopped him lol. what happened was he was trying to stay away from the edge of the hillside and the snow broke way around the tree and in he went.

    didnt even break and glass

then these guys got stuck while trying to get around the bronco

    and this one almost rolled

getting the bronco back up, we dug under the tires, dropped another bronco off the side of the hill hooked up to a snatch block, and hooked another winch to the front of the flipped one. blew the beads on both the tires on the down side so we had to get them put back on before pulling it all the way out.

once the bronco was back up we left that group and headed back down to the highway and went up to the jubilee lake road to see if anyone had made it through yet. its pretty fun just trying to get up to the snow road off the highway. you have to go from highway level to the top of the snow bank where the plows have been throwing the snow.

we seen alot of tracks on the way up to the first turn. once we got there we found out that not even had no one made it past the turn but they hadnt even made it up to the first turn.

then we headed back down and took a sde road that looked like once we were a few miles down it that it turned into a snowmobile trail. so we turned around and headed back down again.

and just to show how high the snow is.

then we loaded back up on the trailer and headed back home. none of us broke anything, had fun, and might be going again next weekend.
