Default My Shotgun I bought while on leave.

Thought I would share with you guys this piece of American history.

It is #4012 Model 1900 Fine Twist
    New Era Nitro Hammerless

Made in 1923 so I wouldnt put recent shells through it. With it having a Damascus barrel I have to be careful what I shoot. Man she is pretty though!

Very nice. I like old guns. I used to have an 1825 Harpers Ferry until the Ex made me get rid of it. I would like to have it back. When I got it, the barrel was bent, so I straightened it out over the bumper of my Jeep. It did shoot OK afterwards.

Gunsmith told me to just do it. First time I touched it off though was inside a culvert.

My grandmother had a boarder we called Uncle Ross. He was a machinist by trade and had a full machine shop at the place which included a gun barrel lathe. He made me a side by side shot gun like that that was supposed to be mine when I got old enough. Unfortunately he died and I didn't get it. But when I was a little guy I would wander through his shop and he would point to it and say that was mine. I also have a hand made 22 pistol that looks just like a Colt 45, bone handles and everything.

damn Armyguy! thats a nice find!

Steve, bet you're still kicking yourself over selling that one. Can you imagine going into battle knowing that it took you at least 15 seconds to reload your weapon? I suppose cold comfort would be knowing the opposition had the same reloading issues.

That is a beautiful shot gun for sure.. I'd love to one day have a classic like that to add to my small collection...
