Default Bad Fuel Pump Check Valve - Can I keep driving on it?

Based on a few posts I've read on here, the check valve in my fuel pump is bad. Since I have a 1999 XJ, and it's in the fuel tank, I may as well replace the whole fuel pump. Until that happens, how much driving can I do on it (highway, to work, shopping, etc)?

If it is just the check valve, indefinitely. It will just need to be brought up to pressure with turning the ignition on once or twice to let the pump build up pressure. Mine leaks back over night, although not a 99, and I don't want to spend the bucks. So I just keep driving it.
