What do you run for a Mobile HF Antenna? I am thinking a Tarheel 300.
    NICE!

Hustler 102" whip and coil with Hustler ball mount. AH-4 antenna tuner.

Got turned off of kenwoods way back in the late 70's early 80's. Apparently they had quality control issues.

The Kenwood TS-520 was a popular rig back then...

I had a radio similar to that, it was a Tempo 2020. Miss that old rig. I have been playing with the TS-480SAT with a long wire in the attic, As I am only a tech+ and have not even touched a key or paddle in over 20 years... I'll just have to wait until I test for General. I have had nothing but good luck with Kenwood radios, I have 2 TM-D700A dual banders with built in APRS that I have had since about 2000 and have been rock steady. HF is new for me, but I have a few friends who are active on 40m - 10m And I wanted a good bug out rig that could tune up a barbed wire fence if need be. So tell me Tony, how does your antenna and tuner tune up on 40m?
