I just bought the wheels and tires because I got a pretty good deal on them, but I never cared for the black wheels. But I guess black wheels are in style now, which I could care less about.
My spare is a M/T and it is gloss black, I am not familiar with the ultra 164, I will try to find out what they look like.
Do you think it would look better with the grill black? I am not sure, I thought it might be too much black again, but you are probably right.
Josh, You know when I bought that set of wheels and tires, I thought they were powder coated black. So, dummy that I am, I couldn't find a fifth one for a spare tire, so I ordered a new black powder...
You sure got that right, even with the paint remover, it took a lot of elbow grease.
The local hardware store only had one kind of paint remover, a sort of thick gel. But the can said it was safe for aluminum, so I used it, and an ice scraper to get most of it off. Then I went over...
Well, I finally got around to stripping the black paint off the wheels, what a messy job. But I think they look much better now with my black xj.
I wish you could remember too, but I will try Steves suggestion.
