    Re: Engine replacement issue

Any chance the crank position sensor could have been bumped? Easy to do when swapping motors.

    Re: Rotting brake lines

OP, could you clarify: when you say brake lines, do you mean the hard lines, or the hoses? I assumed hard lines, but it looks like others are assuming hoses.

    Re: Replacement plastic fuel lines....

Not sure exactly what you need, but look here:
    http://www.dormanproducts.com/documents4rb/135-145QuickDisconnectBuyersGuide.pdf

About halfway down, page 140, there is a "nylon fuel line repair"...

    Re: Rough starts

Here's what I would do: clean battery connections, clean grounds, and clean connections at starter. If symptoms persist, charge the battery overnight and have it tested at a parts store.

    Help with decision, please

I bought my XJ this summer. It needed a little work, but figured I would have it ready for winter. I did a lot of little things on it (battery, water pump, exhaust manifold, etc), and thought I had...

    Re: 4.0 Piston Skirt

So you removed and replaced the piston from the bottom? I have the pan off, and yes, it took some effort to get it out!

    Re: Oil pressure gauge?

Either the sending unit or wire is probably shorted to ground. Unplug the wire from the sending unit; if the gauge goes to zero, the sending unit is bad. I would unplug it ASAP. Not good at all...

    Re: 4.0 Piston Skirt

Unfortunately, I'm in this situation now myself. Broken skirt on #6 piston. Can the piston really be replaced from the bottom? Doesn't look like there's room, but I haven't actually tried.

    Exhaust manifold

The XJ money pit strikes again. Cracked exhaust manifold.

    1. Has anyone ever used the POR15 product Fire Seal 2000? It would be nice if I could put this project (manifold replacement) off until...

    Re: Rear Drum Brakes

Just measure it up the best you can and get the next longest length. Make sure the fitting screws into your new wheel cylinder before you bend the line.

Re: Bad running Cherokee, can you help me?

Here are some thoughts, in no particular order: TPS, vacuum leak, test fuel pressure, check/clean grounds, any codes?
  15. Re: AW4 Changing Filter and fluid. (1998 4.0L, AW4)

I just bought a '98 with 181k on it. The ATF is quite discolored, but the trans shifts well. I plan to do 2 or 3 "drain 'n fills" over the next year, and changing the filter on the last one.

    The...

    Re: God, Christ, Holy Spirit/Ghost

Could you expand on this a little? How far back? Just want to clarify what you mean.

The Bible teaches that people have been saved throughout human history.

    Re: God, Christ, Holy Spirit/Ghost

Personally, I believe the earth is around 7000 years old. I think that God created the earth "aged", and likewise with Adam (IOW, if you saw Adam the day after God created him, you'd see an adult...

    Which translation do you prefer?

For study, I like the NASB or HCSB. For NT reading, I usually use the HCSB or NIV. For the OT, though, I find the NLT to be easier reading. Overall, the HCSB is probably my favorite. Most of all,...

    Re: God, Christ, Holy Spirit/Ghost

BTW, though I believe in the trinity, I certainly don't claim to fully understand it!

There have been many analogies attempting to explain it. One that makes some sense to me is this: even...

    Re: God, Christ, Holy Spirit/Ghost

I can see your point. However, what about John 1:1?

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (NIV)

    "The Word" is Jesus.

Thanks for the reply. The left headlight usually looks normal, but the right one can be anywhere from off to bright, usually very dim. I have confirmed that the voltage at the light is changing. ...

OK, I confirmed that the grounds I cleaned were the right ones. Looking at the size of the factory wires, I might just rewire the headlights using relays and new sockets.

    Re: God, Christ, Holy Spirit/Ghost

Well, consider this. Jesus claimed to be God ("I and the Father are One."). That means He was either truly God, a crazy man who thought He was God, or a liar.
