From what I have seen of the screen it has a beautiful picture from straight on, but like the TVs the viewing angle isn't great. Which I know is being super knit picky. Although, if I'm buried alive...

They do make a "Sport" version of the galaxy that is water resistant. I think it is for AT&T.
I almost went with the new Sony Experia Z this last time around for the camera and water resistant...
