    Re: Project: "Rigor Mortis"

With your skills it would be cool to see you make some custom pans. Bead rolled and all! That's what I wanted to do.

I'm pretty familiar with the floor of mine at this point and I can't think of...

    Re: XJ Under dash lighting

Technology is great isn't it! Never before could you celebrate Prince's birthday so fabulously by glowing your undercarriage for all to see in waves of illumescent pride! :D

    I do question if the...

    Re: XJ Under dash lighting

I can find a pic on my phone but I've had some like this, albeit shorter sections you buy as a kit at the auto parts, on the inside of each fender flare. They're just stuck on right behind the edge...

    Re: Xj front “slider”

Never done it but looks like a good idea. Better than a scoop up there to hold you up.

Re: Control Arm Skids, bolt on vs. weld on

I always liked the idea of the weld on skids giving some lateral support because the most common issue I've seen is the stock mounts bend to the side together. The mounts I used weld on to the...

Re: Who makes bumpers for the xj

There's a lot. Off the top of my head, in addition to the ones listed, ARB, Smittybilt, Warrior, Warn, Rough Country, OR Fab. There's more that are smaller companies but as far as quality of build...
  10. Re: Checking gear backlash and contact pattern

Your expertise is much appreciated Steve! Looking forward to doing mine.
  11. Re: Checking gear backlash and contact pattern

Lol, I'm trying bud! I was surprised at how easy it actually is once I crammed it in my brain hole. Just a lot of making sure things go where they should and having the right tools.
  12. Re: Checking gear backlash and contact pattern

That's what I was thinking, and hoping, that it was basically a guideline. What's your thoughts on the pattern?
  13. Checking gear backlash and contact pattern

Hey guys, my brother and I have been taking on our first gear swap/axle rebuild on his '90 xj front hp Dana 30. The new items are a Detroit truetrac, Motive 4.10 gears, and full rebuild kit. We're...

    Re: Project Cheap XJ

Sad to see it go. I enjoyed your build, all the way from the beginning at $200. But I know you'll love that new XJ!

    Re: Project Cheap XJ

Normally I'd say... Nah, man! Stick it out, you've put so much work in it! But that 01 is a real looker! And to know it's been taken care of is piece or mind that's hard to find.

    Re: Project Cheap XJ

Nice work! It's really one of those excellent mods for us guys with rusty undercarriages! Not easy, but worth it!

  23. Re: OK so maybe "tune up" isn't the right term

Gonna be nice with that peace of mind! I've never had any problems with my vacuum lines but you got me thinking if I ever do... where did you get the formed vacuum lines?

    Re: Best OEM-like Carpet?

I'm familiar with drop shipping. It's also called blind shipping. I've delivered parts that way. Odd way to do it.

Thanks for the info. I've never purchased these fitted carpet sections so I...
