Swapped the thermostat last night and temp is back to normal.

After thinking about it this morning I also figured it may and most likely is a failed thermostat. An old S-10 Blazer my wife had many years ago had the same issue and a thermostat replacement fixed...

My 97 XJ... previous owner replaced the radiator, I don't why. The radiator cap would leak, replaced it and it still leaked. Put the cap off my 93 on it and it sealed up nice. Ran at the mark below...
