Re: Replacing Rockers with Rectangular Tubing

Yeah I know...it just sucks. I've got tons of time into just getting this thing running and driving reliably...then to end up having to sell it... She's been using my S10 because it sits about as...

Re: Replacing Rockers with Rectangular Tubing

Re: Replacing Rockers with Rectangular Tubing

I wish I had the time and patience to do something like this to my XJ...but I still need other things before I can even think about needing anything like this. LOL

    Re: WTB: Lift kit

I assume this gearbox has a better time turning those bigger tires. What years does it fit from?

    Re: WTB: Lift kit

The T-bird/Cougar springs with the modified strut plate also give 3.5". So that may be my cheapest route. Then I could buy some lower control arms and do a transfer case drop and be ok. Come to find...

    Re: WTB: Lift kit

I was thinking if I have to I'll go the T-bird or Cougar V6 front springs and S10 main out back method. Right now, the 31's scrub, I can't have fender flares on, and the ride quality...well...it's...

    WTB: Lift kit

I know, I know...it's been a long time since I've been here. Stupidly sold my 99 XJ Sport a few years ago but now I'm back in one. Just picked up a 01 XJ Sport. Someone tried the Autozone lift method...

Re: Open Door with Bad Latches

I guess I really cheated...I removed the driver seat to get the door panel off the one at the junkyard. Broke a couple clips, but no real damage to the door panel.

    Re: My 99 Cherokee SE

Thanks...I wish it wasn't so, but my lack of job has really put a damper on my finances.

I'm located in NE PA...think the NY border.

    Re: My 99 Cherokee SE

Well, I may not be going through with this build at all. The XJ may be up for sale soon. I need money more than I need another toy. :( If anyone is interested, feel free to message me.

You know, Steve, I never even noticed the rock sliders...they just looked like rusty pieces of metal to me. LOL

    My 99 Cherokee SE

Well, I haven't been a member here long, but I really wanted to do something with this XJ. For those who haven't read my intro thread, I have a 1999 Cherokee SE 4.0L, 5 speed, 4x4. Base model...power...
  15. Re: New member...interesting issue

I thought about doing this as well. My parts XJ is a fully loaded 98 with a bad 4.0L...seized tighter than a drum. Happens to be the same vehicle I pulled the interior, overhead console, cruise,...
  16. Re: New member...interesting issue

I'll have more time to mess with it when it's no longer my DD at the end of the month. Then I can start scoping sensors and see what's up. Was really hoping it was a common issue that everybody with...
  17. Re: New member...interesting issue

Are these things notorious for eating them? I put in a Bosch unit...the same brand I use in basically everything without issue. Also...it's nearing my 30k mark...aren't these due for tune ups right...
  18. Re: New member...interesting issue

Ok...I wasn't aware they made them out of stamped steel. I'm pretty sure the 91 Wrangler I have in the garage has a cast iron unit. But, no leaks there. Speaking of fuel mixture issues, is it...
  19. Re: New member...interesting issue

I don't have access to a code reader during the issue. I can get access to one, but was checking to see if this is common. My guess is it isn't.

For some strange reason, I don't have a typical...
  20. Re: New member...interesting issue

Thanks for the help guys. I'll take a look at that. I know I've got some cleaner kicking around so it won't cost me anything.
  21. New member...interesting issue intermittently, drop idle, run rich

Ok, so I have this 99 Cherokee...4.0L 5 speed 4x4. It has approximately 117k on it (upgraded to the sport cluster with all the gauges...so that's pretty close.) When I got it at 85k, I did a complete...
