Yes they need to be removed. From what I was told you pull them off and press them back on.

$41.00 UPS ground. I used the UPS site caculater and it came up with 16.09. I find it hard to belive it costs 16 bucks to ship a box thats 10x6x1 that weighs less than a pound From Houston to Chico....
