    Re: Trans cooler routing advice

Radiator, condenser & trans cooler are in. Ended up routing trans fluid to internal radiator cooler, then to new aux cooler, then back to trans.
I learned that, looking at the passenger side of the...

    Re: Trans cooler routing advice

Is your ATF routed to the Griffin radiator internal cooler first, then to an auxiliary cooler, then back to trans?

    Re: Trans cooler routing advice

    Steve, yes.

The previous WJ (one I shoulda kept), had a Hayden trans cooler and lines were routed to that cooler only. Totally bypassing the cooler that's built into the radiator. I had a Trans...

Thursday night I'm starting some work on the new WJ. Replacing the radiator and condenser and installing an stand alone trans cooler too. Currently the only cooler it has is the one built into the...

    Re: Our new WJ

It's definately hard to find a decent one. I looked at quit a few. Some weren't even worth driving. If your up for a 4.7 engine rebuild you may want look at some with bad motors. Usually from an over...

    Re: Our new WJ

Me too. Wish I could get the lift right now. I'm leaning towards Rusty's I think, but the price of the Rough County will allow that to happen much sooner. People talk crap about RC but there are a...

    Re: Our new WJ

In the short term, just working out some bugs. Rear main oil leak, cracked plastic radiator, a stereo and fender trimming.

Long term is a long arm lift. Rusty's, IRO, Rough Country... not sure...

    Our new WJ

Finally picked up a WJ that will replace our JK Wrangler. I'm very excited to have a WJ in the garage again. Sold my 99 about a year ago when we bought the JK, and have been regretting it since.

    Re: WJ front driveshaft conversion

Ok Steve, will do. May be a stupid question but what do you mean by "full article" ready to post. I haven't posted a how too before. Can I right it all up, with picture links embedded, in something...

    Re: Engine swap options?

I'd have to agree with Cody. Not based on my direct experience owning a 4.7 but just what I've read over months & months of WJ research. Keep up with oil changes & just some basic common sense like...

    Re: WJ front driveshaft conversion

You got it. 5/16-24 x 1.5" long is the right size. Thanks again.

Probably be a couple of weeks but I'll post here when I get the install done. As long as this shaft works correctly I'll post its...

    Re: WJ front driveshaft conversion

Dang, I'm glad I asked. Thanks for the info! AND, thanks for your contribution to the podcast. Always very informative.

The bolts are missing for that T-case end. Does 5/16-24 x 1.25" sound right?

    WJ front driveshaft conversion

I'm finally converting my 2000 WJ from the stock Rzeppa/Rzeppa front driveshaft to a double cardan u-joint shaft. The shaft I bought is from a 95 ZJ 5.2 v8 and has a "ball socket" looking u-joint...

Rec'd brand for drag link ends

My WJ is showing early signs of death wobble. After inspecting all the steering components while my wife cranked the wheel, I found lots of play in the pass side drag link end. I plan to replace the...

Re: Are all Dana 30 yokes created equal?

You guys are right. It can be done I guess, but I don't feel good about its durability after drilling. The u-joint style yoke I got for the Tcase has much more beef to it. Going to order the right...

Re: Are all Dana 30 yokes created equal?

Correct me if I'm wrong. A yoke that uses straps can be converted to using U-bolts by just buying the u-bolts. :rolleye0012:

Re: Are all Dana 30 yokes created equal?

Thanks Steve. I've got the D30 yoke off a 99 XJ on the way. I already have a tcase yoke off a 97 ZJ 242 tcase. And my tcase is a 242. I think the tcase yoke is a straight bolt on but do I need a new...

Re: Are all Dana 30 yokes created equal?

No sir, working on the front shaft. My 2000 WJ came with a front DS that has what I think are called "Rzeppa" joints on both ends. I refer to them as CV joints but I guess they are ball & socket type...

Re: Are all Dana 30 yokes created equal?

Thanks guys! I'd want to order a U-bolt kit kit for both axle yoke & TC yoke, correct? Think I read U-bolts are stronger.

While y'all are here.... :) Any idea which driveshaft I need? I havnt been...

Are all Dana 30 yokes created equal?
